on friday december 28th we went to the hospital for a non-stress test because 'lissa was late and
labor was not progressing. two of our obstetricians recommended a cesearean birth to ensure the safety of
the baby and 'lissa. we opted to take their advice and charlotte was born at 5:35 pm (about an hour and a
half later). dr. stephenson performed the surgery with speed and expertise. this photograph of the three
of us was taken moments after charlotte was born. she was eight pounds fourteen ounces and twenty-one inches
long. the doctors gave her a nine and a ten on the apgar test.
